The Parish of Almondbury with Farnley Tyas is situated approximately two miles south-east of Huddersfield, in West Yorkshire. It incorporates the village of Farnley Tyas in the south, the ancient township of Almondbury, parts of urban Huddersfield and the magnificent Castle Hill, an iron age fort with magnificent views in all directions.
All Hallows' Church Almondbury is a grade 1 listed building which dates back in places to the 13th century. The church has a wealth of historical features, including mediaeval stained glass and a magnificent Tudor ceiling. St Lucius' church, Farnley Tyas was the gift of the fourth Earl of Dartmouth and was dedicated in 1840. St Michael and St Helen's is a multi purpose building in Quarry Hill, which is well used by a range of church and community groups.
